FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
A lot goes into planning your perfect event, but we help make it easy.
Here are answers to some of our most common questions, but please contact us at info@exdoevents.com to discuss your event.
On the very spot EXDO now sits, the Lindquist Cracker Company built a three-story, brick factory in the 1890’s. In the 1920’s, that factory was sold to Goldberg Brothers Tinners. At the time, “the factory on Walnut” as it was referred to informally was one of several factories owned and operated by Goldberg Brothers, who at the time was the second largest employer in the state of Colorado, behind only the Adolf Coors Brewing and Manufacturing Company. Goldberg Brothers manufactured thousands of different metal items but eventually became best known as the largest manufacturer of movie reels in the world. Not the film itself, the metal reels on which movies were stored. If you ever saw a movie played on film, it almost certainly was kept safe on a Goldberg Brothers metal reel.
In the 1940’s, the factory on Walnut burned to the ground due to a fire that started in the factory. Less than three years later Goldberg Brothers rebuilt the factory as the one-story structure you see today that has become EXDO Event Center. Goldberg continued their manufacturing operations in the building into the 1970’s. At that time they moved to a different factory but retained ownership until they sold the factory building to EXDO in 1999.
Goldberg Brothers is a historic Denver business icon still located in the metro area, and we are honored to give their former factory life with the hundreds of events that we host every year.
Denver likes its acronyms. LoDo stands for Lower Downtown, RiNo stands for River North, LoHi stands for Lower Highlands and so on. Long before the name River North was accepted as the name of the neighborhood in which we are located, planners called the area Extended Downtown or ExDo. EXDO Event Center was named during these years and although the area’s name changed over time, as an established business EXDO chose to keep its name unchanged.
No. If you are hosting an event that will be ticketed and open to the public, you can use whatever ticketing system you prefer.
Yes. First and foremost, our neighborhood has free street parking on both sides of the street, which can accommodate the majority of your guests. Additionally, there are three separate parking lots adjacent to EXDO Event Center. The smallest lot with approximately 30 spaces is owned by EXDO and is immediately adjacent to our loading dock. This lot can be utilized by your staff and volunteers for free. If your event needs additional parking, there are also two pay lots immediately across Walnut Street that are open to the public.
EXDO Event Center is conveniently located at 1399 35th Street, Denver, CO 80205. That’s just north of Denver’s Central Business District and LoDo (Lower Downtown), and is less than ten minutes from the Colorado Convention Center. We are easily accessed from both I-25 and I-70 and are just a few blocks walk from RTD A-Line’s 38th and Blake Street Station. No matter how your guests choose to arrive, our central location will make access convenient for all.
Absolutely! The only current restrictions for food sampling events have to do with cooking devices and fire code restrictions. So long as those requirements are met, we welcome food sampling of all kinds. For beverages, as with all liquor licenses, the only restrictions are based upon having proper controls in place to limit over-consumption.
EXDO Event Center is proud to have full production capabilities within our walls. These capabilities are what help make EXDO events extremely simple for event organizers to plan and execute. However, if you would prefer to work with your own designers for any reason, that is not a problem at all.
The majority of EXDO Event Center has tall, 16’ ceilings. However, the atrium area in the center of the room has even taller 22’ ceilings.
Yes. Our stage is backdropped by a 16’ LED High Definition screen which is appropriate for videos, slide presentations, sponsor acknowledgements or any other visual aids you wish to use. Additionally, for events such as dinners that utilize round tables, we have two smaller projection screens on opposing sides of the room so no matter where a guest is sitting, they can easily view the presentation. If you are considering hosting a music event, the LED screen can become an interactive part of the performance.

While EXDO is one large, open space, we do have two options for breakout rooms. First, depending on when your event takes place, we have access to a separate but connected 1,100 sq. ft. room which can be used as a breakout area. Second, we often create breakout areas within EXDO’s main room using pipe and drape. With this technique we can create multiple spaces for an event.
Please do! We’d appreciate if you leave us a review on Facebook and Google, or you can email us your feedback at info@exdoevents.com. We love to hear from you!
Yes. EXDO Event Center is proud to offer full-service bars with hundreds of drink choices for your guests, served with care by our in-house, professional bartenders. At EXDO, you don’t need to settle for a small catering cart limited to a handful of choices.
Definitely! Because we choose to focus on the venue and making your event a success, we turn over catering to our trusted list of preferred caterers. You can choose whichever caterer you prefer and negotiate your own menu and pricing directly with them to make sure your affair is perfect. Yes! EXDO Event Center is a former factory and our tall ceilings and smooth floors can be used for almost any activity you can dream up. The only limitation would be activities that utilize implements such as balls. Because EXDO has lights and sound equipment permanently attached to our ceiling, we cannot allow any activities that could damage that equipment.
While EXDO is a 14,000 sq. ft. space, we can use pipe and drape to cordon off part of the room so that it feels great for an event less than 100 people. Our most common seated dinner configuration uses 6’ round tables that accommodate 10 people each. With this configuration, 600-650 is the maximum we recommend for comfort purposes but we could fit up to 700 if there are no needs for a silent auction area, etc. If you are a standing room only event such as a concert, we can fit more, but please contact us with details so we can give an accurate guest quantity.
Our spaces are tailored for you and your event only. Your event will have exclusive access to the entire venue.
EXDO can be open as early or as late as necessary for your event. We’ll work with you to figure out the scheduling that works best for your specific needs.

EXDO Event Center was built for sound. With a state-of-the-art JBL Vertec Powered Line Array sound system, our system has been referred to by more than one promoter as the best system of its type in the country.
Add to that the best lighting system and technicians in the city, complete with lasers, a 16’ modular LED screen and more lights than you can count, and EXDO Event Center in Denver will rock any concert or event. From Kanye to Sublime, LeAnn Rimes to Train, and all of the singers and DJ’s who have graced our former factory turned event center, we can handle any light and sound production needs.
